Tool Comparison

PostReply vs Buffer, Hootsuite and SocialPilot: How to Choose

Compare social media tools by channel access, team workflow, billing model and real publishing tests, with current PostReply plan examples.

The right social media management tool is the one that completes your team’s actual work at an acceptable total cost. Start with the accounts, content formats and approvals you need. A longer feature list or lower headline price is not enough to make that decision.

This guide is published by PostReply. Product details were reviewed on 8 September 2026. It is a buying framework, not an independent benchmark or a claim that one product wins every category. Check each provider’s current terms before purchasing.

Compare the unit you are paying for

ProductWhat the official plan page emphasizesQuestion to ask
PostReplyPlans with included channel, publishing and team limitsDoes the plan enable my required channels and automation?
BufferPer-channel pricing, with collaboration in the Team tierWhat is the total for every channel at the required tier?
HootsuitePer-user plans with higher tiers for advanced collaborationWhat does the required workflow cost for all seats?
SocialPilotAccount and user bundles; manager and client approvals vary by tierWhich tier includes the approval and bulk workflow I need?

Where PostReply currently fits

Monthly planCurrent USD pricePractical starting point
Starter$19/monthFacebook and Instagram; 6 channels, 120 posts/month, 2 team members
Growth$39/monthFacebook and Instagram; 20 channels, 600 posts/month, 5 team members; bulk, RSS and AI Publishing
Agency$79/month15 team members; higher-volume publishing and broader channel permissions

These are the current monthly configurations, not a promise that every platform connection or format is approved for every customer. Agency’s broader permissions remain subject to enabled integrations, provider review and account eligibility. Verify any essential X, LinkedIn or TikTok requirement with support before subscribing.

AI Studio is available across these plans. Starter is a reasonable candidate to evaluate for a small Facebook-and-Instagram workflow. Growth is worth testing when recurring batches or feeds create manual work. Those are fit assessments based on included capabilities, not measured savings or guarantees. See the current PostReply plan details for the full limits and billing choices.

Run the same acceptance exercise in every tool

  1. Connect one real account of the type you need, with the owner’s permission.
  2. Prepare your common format: image, video or another supported type.
  3. Have the intended teammate draft and the intended reviewer inspect it.
  4. Schedule one ordinary post in the correct time zone.
  5. Verify the destination, then inspect failure handling and reporting.
  6. Confirm the total price for your complete account and team count.

Use the same content and requirements so the comparison is meaningful. If you need a unified message inbox, deep listening, a native mobile workflow or specialized reporting, test that specific requirement separately. Do not infer it from a dashboard or a product name.

Make the decision with three numbers

Estimate monthly software cost, weekly operating time and the number of manual workarounds left after the trial. Track these yourself; a vendor’s claimed hours saved are not evidence for your team. Disqualify any tool that fails a required channel or review step, even if the entry price looks attractive.

Start with the four-week planning guide, list your requirements, and ask PostReply about any essential integration before choosing a plan.
